In 2009,the Walton County School District was granted a waiver for the ADA bleacher seating at Emerald Coast Middle School gymnasium and were unaware we would need to re-apply. Florida DOE did not list it in their Project Review for Permit. To be through, we decided to contact Mary Katherine Smith with Florida Building Code Accessibility. She instructed us to re-apply.

Comments:
The ADA requirement of vertical accessibility to all levels of seating in the gym telescoping bleachers is unreasonable and unworkable. We have provided additional accessible seating at several locations in the gym bleacher seating plan to offer a user several options.
