Comments for Energy Gauge Summit 2017 – 11.22.17

1) Performance Report - Page 10

-System_Specific This lists C403.2.3_Table 8-1 thru 8-5.

Do they mean Table C403.2.3(8). Or the individual rows of the table? Will assume that it references to the rows.

-For Row 1 and 5. The minimum efficiency doesn’t seem to match that of the Energy Code.

2) Performance Report – Page 10

-C403.4.2.1 listed as “Hydronic heat pump systems connected to a common water loop meet heat rejection and heat addition requirements.”

But I think the reference is C403.4.2.3.1.

3) Performance Report – Page 12.

-Top of the page. Row C403.2.5.1.  This section does not exist per 6th Edition.

4) Performance Report – Page 13

-First row. C404.5, C404.5.1,

The other section has been marked off. So I cant verify it.

5) Performance Report – Page 13

Row “Insulation C402.2.1 Envelope Skylight curbs are insulated to the level of roofs

with insulation above deck or R-5.”

-The correct section is for C402.2.2

6) Performance Report Page 13

Row “Insulation C402.4.2.2 Envelope Roof R-value. For some ceiling systems,

verification may need to occur during Framing Inspection”

This doesn’t seem to match C402.4.2.2 Haze factor. Please verify.

7) Performance Report – Page 14

Row “Air Leakage C402.5.1.2.1 Envelope The building envelope contains a continuous air

barrier that is sealed in an approved manner and material permeability <= 0.004 dfm/ft2. Air barrier penetrations are sealed in an approved manner.”

Should that be .004 cfm/ft2  not dfm/ft2

8) Performance Report – Page 14

Row “SYSTEM_SPECIFIC C403.2.3 Mechanical Centrifugal fan open-circuit cooling towers having combined rated capacity >= 1100 gpm meets minimum efficiency requirement: >=38.2 gpm/hp.”

I was not able to find this one in the code. Could be my mistake.

9) Performance Report – Page 14

Some of the Sections referenced are cut off.  For example

Row “HVAC C403.2.4.2.1, C403.2.4.2 Mechanical Automatic Controls: Setback to 55°F (heat) and 85°F (cool); 7-day clock, 2-hour occupant override, 10-hour backup”

10) Prescriptive Report

The Prescriptive Report checklist is similar to the Performance report. The same comments apply.

11) Program Help Files.

-Energy Gauge Summit summary should be updated for the 2017.

-There is a Steps to comply with 2010 and 2014 page. But no 2017 page.
