*Briefly explain why the request has now been referred to the Commission.
The existing building will not take on renovation except for the new sprinkler system. When designing the possibility for new elevator / lobby, we came across multiple conflicts in order to achieve a successful floor plan. Placing an elevator with direct access from the main entry interrupts the egress path through the grand entry stair and will intercept the egress path from each side of the building. Because the egress path cannot run through this potential elevator lobby we would then need to provide an additional egress path on each side of the building. We are now in need to create new exterior penetrations which can ultimately lead to building envelope failure.

Requirements to be Waived.

9. Requirements requested to be waived. Please reference the applicable section of Florida law. Only Florida-specific accessibility requirements may be waived.

Issue 1: Florida-specific hotel/motel rooms  Minimum height in parking structures  Accessible parking

Grounds for waiver.

10. Grounds for Waiver: The Florida Building Commission may grant waivers of Florida-specific accessibility requirements upon a determination of unnecessary, unreasonable or extreme hardship. Please describe how this project meets the following hardship criteria. Explain all that would apply for consideration of granting the waiver.
