State Building Code Adopted.                                      9B-3.047

PURPOSE AND EFFECT:  Adoption of the 2007 edition of the Florida Building Code.

SUMMARY:  The rule is amended to complete the second triennial update of the Florida Building Code.  The 2007 edition of the Code incorporates the 2006 edition of the International Codes as its foundation, replacing the 2003 International Codes, adds amendments sought by interested parties and carries forward previously adopted, Florida specific amendments to the extent that they were not addressed in the updated foundation codes.  The code also integrates the interpretations rendered by the Commission by Declaratory Statement.  Local technical amendments to the code were reviewed, but none have been integrated into this edition.

SUMMARY OF STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED REGULATORY COST:  Any person who wishes to provide information regarding the statement of estimated regulatory costs, or to provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative must do so in writing within 21 days of this notice.

     (1)  The Florida Building Code, 2007 edition, as updated by the Florida Building Commission on July 1, 2005, and as amended by the Commission on December 11, 2005, December 8, 2006, and May 21, 2007, incorporated herein by reference is hereby adopted as the building code for the State of Florida.

The proposed effective date is October 1, 2008.
