Dear Mrs. Koning:

Currently the Center For Professional Development at the Florida State University is by contract the sole provider of the Florida Building Code Core Course. It has come to our attention that your company has two courses in the Building Code Information System (BCIS), which have been accredited and are awaiting DCA administrative approval. Those two courses are titled:

Both of these “core” courses do not contain the same material as the current Florida Building Code Core Course. You must work through your accreditor to change the titles of both of these courses (specifically delete the word core), as the content could be misleading to those wanting to take the Florida Building Code Core Course. This should be accomplished by June 15, 2006. If you have not changed the titles by the above date, then the courses in question will be presented to the Building Commission with the recommendation that they be taken off the approved list. If you have any questions about this matter, or if I can help you in any way, please call me at 850.766.2023.

Sincerely,

Michael Clark, Educational Administrator
