Short Course Description This Advanced Building Code course details the specific
requirements of the Florida Building Construction Standards as required in the
Florida Statutes 553 (part IV), specifically the history of the Florida Building
Code and Florida Building Commission, including the genesis the legislative
intent, the powers of the Commission both general and special, permit requirements,
certification of wind load by contractors, truss engineering requirements, Threshold
Building requirements including inspection and reporting, plan, permit and construction
requirements, moved buildings and Private Provider requirements which include
the provisions for use, inspections, plans examination, certificates of occupancy
and completion, and penalties and challenges; and accelerated plans review.
