The meeting of the Electrical Technical Advisory Committee was called to order at 1PM.

The agenda was approved as submitted

The following members were in attendance:

Chairman, Ed Carson, Roy Van Wyke, Jay Dagner, Oriol Haage, Tarry Baker, Leonard Devine Jr, Joe Territo, Clarence Tibbs, Dwight Wilkes

The TAC reviewed the following Draft Code material(s) and took comments from members and other interested parties. These comments will be complied with the Florida specific requirements incorporated into the 2006 I Code base document. The following are Code volumes, Chapters and sections were reviewed by the Electrical TAC:

Florida Building Code, Building: Chapter 27

Florida Building Code, Existing Building: s. 608 , s.708 , s.908

Florida Building Code, Residential: Chapter 33

Local Amendments : (Building, 250.96 NEC and 280.3 NEC)

Discussion on the “Pool deck bonding” issue:

Staff will put together a plan for a code change for SB 2836 for the 2007 FBC if the Commission requests that the Electrical TAC conduct a workshop relative to the pool bonding issue. It was encouraged that members and others prepare language for the code change at the workshop in June. Staff will provide the NEC code sections relative to pool deck bonding issue to the members. Staff will correlate the code change proposals submitted for the workshop.
