            Update on Hotel Charette:  The scope of the charette was narrowed to focus on only the guest rooms and suites and appurtenant areas, e.g. balconies, patios, terraces, etc.

 

            `Discussion of Definition of “New Construction” and “Alterations”:  Further guidance will be requested from the Access Board representative at the May meeting to clarify the distinction.

 

            Detectable Warnings:  A presentation will be made by the Access Board and Florida Department of Transportation at the May meeting.

 

            Review of Proposed Rule Change:  The following changes  to then proposed rule were made:

 

·       Change referenced section to 11-4.8.3.

 

·       Request all applicants submit package in PDF format in addition to required hard copies.

 

·       Require submission of 11 ˝  14 inch plans.

 

·       Under “general instructions  add “additional” equipment.

 

In Section 7, add “and/or” code.

 

Change section 11.4.6.4 to verbatim statutory language.

 

Discussion of Training Course.  Final discussion will conclude at the May meeting.

 

                        Identify Goals and Objectives:

 

            Identify proposed legislative changes.

 

            Update on Training Course.

 

            Finalize recommendations on detectable warnings.

 

            Obtain continuing updates on all legislative action affecting accessibility.

 

Discussion of Research Projects.

 

            Provide accessible communications systems in elevators.

 

            Identify subjects for new charettes.

 

            Review small vessel access, e.g, docks and piers.
