The Department of Business & Professional Regulation has sponsored, through Building A Safer Florida, building code training classes for modular building manufacturers and Third Party Inspection Agencies (TPA) doing business in Florida.

There will be six opportunities to take advantage of these classes for free in the following locations and times:

The classes have been submitted for approval, by the Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB), Building Code Administrators/Inspectors Board (BCAIB), and the Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design, for credit toward licensure renewal. The courses have been designed to examine the Florida Building Code (FBC) 2010 Edition changes. Attendees will also receive advanced course credit training in the 2010 FBC Accessibility.

The course is being presented by Billy Tyson from Clemons & Rutherford & Associates (CRA) Florida’s Modular Building Manufacturer & Third Party Agency Monitor. Mr. Tyson will present as part of the training classes a two hour class examining the code changes specifically related to modular building construction in Florida as reference in the 2010 Florida Building Code.

The Department is recommending all Modular Manufacturer Quality Control Managers, Draftsman, Designers, TPA Inspectors & Plan reviewers attend a class being presented in a State close to them.
