FLORIDA BUILDING COMMISSION

 

ACCESSIBILITY ADVISORY COUNCIL

 

October 6, 2014

 

A quorum was not present; however the following consensus recommendations were made and presented to the Building Commission.

 

Alpha Gamma Delta Porch Enclosure:  Vertical accessibility between interior levels and an elevated dining room in a sorority house.   Recommended for deferral with a request that a representative be present at the following meeting.

 

Venezia Hotel:  Vertical accessibility in the split level lobby and size requirements of an existing, nonconforming elevator.  Recommendation to grant since the applicant agreed to construct a ramp. 

 

Life Group Office/Warehouse:  Vertical accessibility to the second floor office portion of the building.  Recommendation to grant based on disproportionate cost,.

Through the years Vintage Market:  Vertical accessibility to all levels of a historic building.  Recommendation to grant provided signage is provided to direct patrons to the accessible entrance and submit photos of the ramp.  Based on technical infeasibility.

 

William Schlitt:  Vertical accessibility to the second floor of a historic office building.  Recommendation to grant based on disproportionate cost.

 

Watermark Clubhouse:  Vertical accessibility to an observation deck.  Recommendation to deny.

 

Palm Beach County Convention Center Hotel and Garage:  Vertical accessibility to the second floor of the parking garage.  Recommendation to deny since no exceptions can be made for new Title II buildings.,

 

Samantha Hotel Suites:  Vertical accessibility to all levels of a historic hotel.  Recommendation to defer at the request of the applicant.
