We appreciate the chance to
respond to the complaint about Pocahontas Aluminum FL 12903-R1 and the use of
incorrect installation drawings. First, Keystone Certifications does not
inspect installation drawings to determine their origin. We assume the
manufacturer has generated the drawings themselves or has the required
permission to use the drawings submitted. In this case, we believed
Pocahontas to have generated the drawings themselves.
The response to the accuracy of
the drawings is two-fold. First, the drawing does show the wrong
dimensions between the hinges. We are going to work with Pocahontas on
changing the drawings, revising the application and getting that done prior to
the next deadline. Second, since the beginning of the certification in
2010, our inspections of this product at Pocahontas Aluminum’s manufacturing
facility show no non-conformities with the door. Therefore, the doors
installed in the field are being manufactured in compliance with the
certification authorization and test report description.
