Approved minutes from June 26, 2014 meeting with correction to Line F.

Considered and discussed DS 2015-80 by Jennifer Hatfield of Wilson & Associates,LLC and provided recommendations for consideration by the Commission.

Question : Is a permit required to resurface a public swimming pool or spa?

Answer: Yes, resurfacing a public swimming pool required a permit, per Section 105.1 of the 5th Edition (2014) Florida Building Code, Building

Corky Williams made a motion to accept the staff analysis as presented seconded by John O’Conner with unanimous approval by the TAC.

Discussed and recommended potential research topics for consideration by the Commission. Bob Vincent -  Study on how many public and private pools have high voltage lighting? What is the cost to change to low voltage and the time frame to change in the next 5 or 10 years.

Corky Williams – Study on variable frequency drive system on anything over 3 horse power compared to a single speed motor and the cost efficiency.

Corky Williams made a motion to make the Electrocution Prevention study number one and the VARIABLE frequency number two seconded by Mark Pabst with unanimous approval by the TAC.
