TAC Objectives

TAC Members Present: Chairman: Frederick Schilling, Bob Boyer, Jim Bickford, Gary Duren, Gary Kozan, Brian Langille, Mike Robbins.

TAC Members Absent:  Joseph Kajak, George Seiler, Robert Trumbower

Alternate: None

Staff Present: Mo Madani, Jim Richmond, April Hammonds, Marlita Peters, Joe Bigelow, Jim Hammers.

Facilitator: Jeff Blair

Ø Objective - The purpose of these meetings is to accept public input and to provide recommendations on the proposed code changes for the update to 2017 5th Edition of the Florida Building Code.

 

Meeting Agenda

Objective

Review of objectives will include the following:  Description of issue, discussion by TAC, public comment, TAC action.

1)

Welcome and Opening Remarks. Meeting began at 8:00am with opening remarks by facilitator, Jeff Blair regarding the code review processes to be followed.

2)

Roll Call – Roll call was taken a full quorum was present.

3)

Review and Approval of Meeting Agenda and Minutes of previous meeting: Motion to accept the Agenda by Bob Boyer with a second made by Mike Robbins.  Unanimous vote to accept the agenda as presented.  Motion to accept previous minutes by Gary Kozan from the meeting held December 5, 2015 with a second by Bob Boyer.  Unanimous vote to accept the Minutes as presented.

4)

Accept public input and provide recommendations on the proposed code changes for the update to the 2017 5th Edition of the Florida Building Code. 

The standing motion to accept all modifications as submitted was made by Bob Boyer and 2nd by Gary Kozan with a unanimous vote of approval.

The Plumbing TAC reviewed 26 proposed code modifications.  The TAC made the following recommendations: nine (9) were Approved as Submitted, five (5) were Approved as Modified, six (6) received No Affirmative Recommendation With a Second, six (6) were Withdrawn.  Local Amendments – No local amendments were approved for state-wide use.

Other Commission business – There was no other business on behalf of the TAC or the Commission.

6)

Public Comment – Gary Kozan requested that the TAC look at a way to make this process less time confusing and could possibly adopt standing codes into the process.

7)
