TAC Objectives

TAC Members Pesent: Chairman; Darrell Phillips, Gene Chalecki, Ken Cureton, Charles Frank, Doug Melvin, Bob Vincent, Scott Waltz.

TAC Members Absent:  Frank Frail, Jim Ginas, Phillip Sanders,

Alternate: None

Staff Present: Mo Madani, Jim Richmond, April Hammonds, Marlita Peters, Robert Lorenzo, Joe Bigelow, Robert Benbow.

Ø Objective - The purpose of these meetings is to accept public input and to provide recommendations on the proposed code changes for the update to 2017 5th Edition of the Florida Building Code.

 

Meeting Agenda

Objective

Review of objectives will include the following:  Description of issue, discussion by TAC, public comment, TAC action.

1)

Welcome and Opening Remarks. Meeting began at 9:00am with opening remarks by Chairman Hamrick and, facilitator, Jeff Blair regarding the code review processes to be followed.

2)

Roll Call – Roll call was taken a full quorum was present.

3)

Review and Approval of Meeting Agenda and Minutes of previous meeting: Motion to accept the Agenda with a second was made.  Unanimous vote to accept the agenda as presented.  Motion to accept Minutes from the meeting held July 31, 2015 with a second.  Unanimous vote to accept the Minutes as presented.

4)

Accept public input and provide recommendations on the proposed code changes for the update to the 2017 5th Edition of the Florida Building Code.  The Special Occupancy TAC reviewed 70 proposed code modifications.  The TAC made the following recommendations: Fifty-four (54) were Approved as Submitted, eight (8) were Approved as Modified, six (6) received No Affirmative Recommendation With a Second, two (2) were Withdrawn.

5)

Review local amendments and provide recommendations for the 2017 5th Edition update to the Florida Building Code.  No local amendments received recommendation to be included in the 2017 5th Edition Florida Building Code.

6)

Other Commission business – There was no other business on behalf of the TAC or the Commission.

7)

Public Comment – none made.

8)

Member Comment – TAC members expressed their appreciation for the hard work of staff in preparation for the meeting.

9)

Schedule next meeting – No meeting was scheduled at this time.

10)

Adjournment. – 12:16pm
