Meeting Objective:

• Review and approve agenda

• Review and make recommendations on DEC request DCA10-DEC-216

Technical Advisory Committee members present:

A quorum was achieved with 9 TAC members present: Rafael Palacios, Chair, Larry Banks, Joe Crum, Jim Cummings, Elizabeth Goll, Dan Griffin, Gary Griffin, Scott Mollan, and Donny Pitmann

DCA staff support present included Mo Madani, Ann Stanton, Rick Dixon, Marlita Peters, Ila Jones and Jim Richmond. The meeting was facilitated by Jeff Blair with the FSU FCRC.

Actions Taken:

1. The meeting was called to order by Chair Palacios at 2:00 p.m. The agenda and minutes from the November 19 meeting were reviewed and approved.

2. The TAC reviewed and recommended action to be taken on DEC request DCA10-DEC-216 by Geoff McLeod of MESA Modular Systems, Inc, regarding the provisions of Section 304.9 of the FBC-Mechanical and Section M1305.1.4.1 of the FBC-Residential, Clearances from grade. Only Question 1 of the DEC request was addressed. On a motion by Pittman and second by Goll, the TAC unanimously approved using the Staff Recommendation, as follows:

To the question, “Can the Commission approve our pad according to Mechanical Code Section 304.9 “other approved material?”, the answer is NO, the term “approved” means “Acceptable to the code official or authority having jurisdiction”; the code official charged with the administration and enforcement of this code is the local building official or his/her authorized representative.

3. Chair Palacios adjourned the meeting at 2:10 p.m.
