Objectives: To Approve the Agenda and Minutes of the February 7th, 2014 meeting. To review report “A Review of Airtightness and Ventilation Approaches.”

 

Meeting Minutes

Objective

Discussion of objectives included the following: 

1)

 

9:20 AM Welcome and Opening, Roll Call.  A quorum was present.

Marlita Peters, facilitator for the Florida Building Commission, provided a welcome and a brief overview of the agenda items to be presented.

2)

Agenda and meeting Minutes for the February 7th, 2014 Mechanical TAC meeting were approved unanimously by the committee members.

3)

The TAC received for review a report on the project from James Cummings. Report entitled “A Review of Airtightness and Ventilation Approaches.” The objectives of this project are to conduct literature review, examination of experimental data and calculation of energy impact of using or not using various types of ventilation systems and then to develop alternative approach to achieving acceptable levels of ventilation while avoiding the risks associated with super-tight home.  After Mr. Cummings’s presentation, the TAC members discussed the progress of the research project and requested that the interim report be updated to provide more details and description of the work done on the project so far.  Chair Steven Bassett dissented in receiving report as it is, citing need for more information. Oscar Calleja moved to accept the project interim report with amendment additional information is provided. Majority of TAC moved to accept the report with Amendment.

 

Other TAC Business – Meeting opened for public comment, no public comment received. Having no other TAC business, the meeting was closed after a Motion and Second to Adjourn.
