Meeting Objective:

 

1.      Called to Order.

Peter Schwab, Joe Belcher, Hamid Bahadori, James Goodloe, Tony Apfelbeck, Dale Greiner, Joe Holland, and Jim Schock.

 

2.  Discussion items:

·        The committee discussed conflicts between the Florida Fire Prevention Code and Florida Building Code regarding manufactured buildings.  Rule 9B-1.030 and 9B-1.009(2) are in conflict with Rule 69A-60.006(2) and 69A-60.006(4)(f).

 

Committee Action:  the committee voted in concept to recommend that the Fire Marshal through legislative change to amend the Florida Statute 633 to expand the manufactured building program for school buildings inspection and plans review process to encompass all manufactured buildings.  Insignias will only apply to construction of buildings.  Fire inspectors shall have the ability to inspect locally for site and local conditions.  The 3rd party inspection is responsible to make sure that buildings are in compliance with local amendments.  The vote was 8/0.

 

·        The committee discussed conflicts between the Florida Fire Prevention Code and the Florida Building Code regarding the storage of corrosive materials.  FBC, Building, s. 414.6 Outdoor storage, dispensing ad use are in conflict with NFPA 1, Chapter 60, Table 60.2.2.1(b) Maximum Allowable Quantities of Hazardous Materials per Outdoor Control Area.

 

Committee Action:  the committee voted in concept to recommend that the Fire Marshal amend by rule the 2004 Florida Fire Prevention Code to add a new footnote 4 to Table 60.2.2.1(b) Maximum Allowable Quantities of Hazardous Materials for Outdoor Control Area,  “Footnote 4, Maximum quantity must be increased to 1950 gallons.”  This footnote will only apply to the column Storage, Liquid Gallons and to the row corrosive.  The committee voted, 9/0.

 

Moved approval of agenda and minutes.
