Accessibility Waivers:

 

Acting Chairman Schock advised that the Commission will now consider this month’s requests for accessibility waivers.  He stated Justin Vogel will serve as legal counsel and present the Accessibility Advisory Council’s recommendations.  Acting Chairman Schock asked that Mr. Vogel present the Council’s recommendations regarding waiver requests.

 

Porter Mansion – Waiver 482 - 510 N. Julia Street, Jacksonville 32202 - Issue: Vertical accessibility to the second floor and attic.

 

Brooke Robbins, Porter Mansion was present for any questions from the Commission.

 

Mr. Vogel presented the waiver.  He advised that the Council recommended granting the request for waiver for vertical accessibility to the second floor and attic based on the grounds of historical significance.

 

Commissioner Schiffer entered a motion to grant the request for a waiver for vertical accessibility to the second floor and attic based on the grounds of historical significance.

Commissioner Smith seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 23 to 0.

 

226 Jefferson – Waiver 408 - 226 Jefferson Ave, Miami Beach 33139 - Issue: Vertical accessibility to the first floor.

 

Mr. Vogel presented the waiver.  He advised that the Council recommended granting the request for waiver for vertical accessibility to the first floor on the grounds of economic hardship.

 

Commissioner Schiffer entered a motion to grant the request for a waiver for vertical accessibility to the first floor based on the grounds of economic hardship.  Commissioner Smith seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 23 to 0.

 

Alex Harris – Waiver 478 - 331 West Forsyth Street, Jacksonville 32202 - Issue: Vertical accessibility to the second floor.

 

Mr. Vogel presented the waiver.  He advised that the Council recommended granting the request for waiver for vertical accessibility to the second floor based on the grounds of economic hardship.

 

Commissioner Schiffer entered a motion to grant the request for a waiver for vertical accessibility to the second floor based on the grounds of economic hardship.  Commissioner Boyer seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 23 to 0.

 

Villa Cinco – Waiver 495 - 1420 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach 33139 – Issue: Vertical accessibility to the second-floor units.

 

Mr. Vogel presented the waiver.  He advised that the Council recommended granting the request for waiver for vertical accessibility to the second-floor units based on the grounds of technical infeasibility and historical nature of the property.

 

Commissioner Schiffer entered a motion to grant the request for a waiver for vertical accessibility to the second-floor units based on the grounds of technical infeasibility and historical nature of the property.  Commissioner Smith seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously with a vote of 23 to 0.


Commissioner Gilson joined the call bringing the Commission quorum to 24 members present.

Krenwal Corporation – Waiver 485 - 220 Collins Ave, Miami Beach 33139 - Issue: Vertical accessibility to the second floor.

 

Mr. Vogel presented the waiver.  He advised that the Council recommended granting the request for waiver for vertical accessibility to the second-floor based on the grounds of economic hardship and technical infeasibility.
