Question 1:

To the question #1: Does Table 153.2 set forth the minimum thickness requirements used on metal roof systems, even though thinner metal roofing panels are acceptable per Table 1507.4(3)?

Answer:  Yes.  As long as the items in question are covered within the scope of section 1503.2 of the Florida Building Code, Building.

Mark Zehnal made a motion to accept the staff analysis as presented, seconded by Bob Boyer.  Vote taken, unanimous approval.

Other Commission business:  Billy Cone asked where staff was on the research project which was approved during last year’s meetings?  Mr. Madani stated that it was moving forward as a Work Authorization to UF (University of Florida) and was signed January 9, 2014.  UF has been in contact with subject matter professionals to determine specific details for survey questions and will have the questionnaire ready for review by the TAC in a near future meeting.  UF is also searching for a survey provider which will be submitted at the next TAC meeting as well.  It is anticipated the next Roofing TAC meeting to review and approve these items will be held on or before March 15, 2014.
